Alma Cavity Sliders are designed to be easily installed with all instructions provided.
The following is a general guideline on the process of installation from start to finish:
1) The cavity sliding unit is delivered in kit form and can be installed after construction of the brick wall is completed (leaving correct brick opening) or bricked in during building of the wall (optional metal jamb requires system to be bricked in).
Fix the track to the top of the system and jamb, stand the cavity sliding unit within the brick opening. The overplapping mesh will hold the unit in place or you can fix the unit in place using the included wall brackets.
2) The cavity sliding system is shown here fixed into the brick opening.
2a) Cavity sliding system shown with optional Alma Building Products metal jamb installed.
3) Rendering of the system is applied in two stages.
The first step is to apply the scratch coat coarse render on the cavity sliding system to cover the mesh.
4) After allowing the scratch coat to dry (approx 7 days) render the wall as per normal.
5) Acrylic or White Set render is recommended as a finishing coat.
6) Installation of jambs and architraves is as per conventional cavity sliding door systems.
7) Finished wall with cavity sliding door system installed.
